Joshua's 1st Haircut -- EVER!

The cape, or giant bib, is on... time to cut the hair!

Getting down to business.

A few keepsake locks in the baggie... lookin' good so far huh?

I didn't even mind the electric razor/trimmer thing.
I passed on using the vacuum to get the hair off me though.

All done! That wasn't so bad.

December - before Christmas

I went to wake Joshua up Sunday morning and he just looked so comfortable.
"Do I have to get up, mom?"

He's getting so big.

We held a Christmas Open House for our congregation. This was our table of food before being eaten. I even remembered the table cloth from my aunt Claudia that goes with this table!

The our very 1st real Christmas tree we picked out.

Adam got Joshua all bundled up to go pick out our Christmas tree. I'm not sure he could move if he wanted to.

Sitting so nicely on his chair having a cereal snack.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas !!!
I do have December pictures to put up yet, you're all lucky the computer decided to give you the rest of the November pictures! Although, it's kinda sad... we didn't get a nice Christmas family picture taken in front of the tree with us all dressed up because when we finally figured out the right lighting for the room and height to set the camera the batteries exhausted and well of course the 12 extra batteries we have are CHEAP-Os and decided they were exhausted like 5 seconds after putting them in. Ughh! That also means we don't have any pictures of us (Joshua) opening presents either. : ( He really enjoyed opening presents this year, he'd take a piece of paper off and hand it to me and continue on like that. Adam surprised me with my present this year. I didn't have anything under the tree and then this morning right away he thought we needed to see if Santa came. There under the tree was a glider chair with an ottoman! That was one of the last things I was wanting to get for upstairs in a bedroom before the baby comes (we're 35 wks now) and he did very well picking out one I like without me even browsing stores first! He had it over at the church hiding up in the balcony I believe. He did this little stunt of his around 3 am this morning, pulled it off well too.
We had a real nice Christmas snow, especially if you didn't need to travel anywhere!

The rest of November

One day he was having a blast sitting on this rubbermaid cover.

Believe it or not he did not like this ball when it was first given to him.

He finally decided it's okay to play with afterall.

Some girls got it from a crane machine at Dar's Pizza. That night he was giving dirty looks to anyone who tried giving him the green ball.

There must have been a spot on the floor that needed cleaning.

Almost ready!
He must have an oven mitt when we're in the kitchen. He knows right where they are kept and now he can even open that drawer to help himself.

Here is our future Pastor Harvala... most common are belts draped over his shoulders.

We've joined a group that meets at Dar's Pizza, local pizza joint, sunday nights for yep, you guessed it... pizza! Joshua loves playing pool in their game room, these pictures are a little dark but the 1st one he's bending down waiting for the ball to come out (the white cue ball).

Then he throws it up onto the table and sometimes he does make it into the back left pocket!

Cousin Mallory needed a couple kitties, Daniel striped tiger kitty was fun to play with.

Over the weekend

This weekend Joshua and I went to North Dakota to visit grandma & grandpa and so I could do a couple Norwex demonstrations. Thank you to my mom and sister, Tessa, I have a little more experience now! Grandma tried her best to teach Joshua words some of them were: please, thank you, mooo (what a cow says), kitty, up (for some reason he's been wanting to be held a lot lately), bye bye, and we tried hard to get him to say Mallory's Uh oh Spaghetti O's - we think he's trying to do it too!
Grandma's cupboards don't have latches!

Everyone tried the Norwex foam soap and bath towel including Joshua.

Tessa's nice big couch... and I want it!

Playing ball with grandpa.

Vacuum is okay.

Mmm mini powdered donuts.

This week

Nope, he didn't fall asleep, he's just laying around playing in the tub of toys.

Oh, hi mommy!

Tessa came to play on tuesday. Here Joshua is throwing the beach ball to her, but it went backwards. Ooops.

He loves to play ball!

It's kind of hard to see, but when he woke up from his nap on tuesday his hair was sticking up all in back... we tried to get a picture of it. It was really funny.

It was so much fun watching Joshua last night, he would lay on the pillow, but he didn't want the blanket at all. Then when there was some commercial on tv with good music he'd get up and do some dancing. It was a good time. These pajamas, by the way, are size 24 mo. in Gerber brand they fit great, just a tad big in the feet though. They fit much better than the what he had been wearing in this same style.... Christmas idea - he could use more pajamas this style (one piece with footies), long sleeved shirts (no onesies), socks (to be picky, we kinda of like Old Navy's socks - he'd need 12-24 mo. or 18-24 mo. whatever the sizing is) and size 5 shoes (he only really has one pair of tennis shoes that fit right now) are all other good ideas.

Ducky getting his yellow hair thinned (he pulls it out).

Drinking like a big boy!

Look! I can drink from my cup without the cover on!

Yep, we've started practicing to drink without covers or even from a cup/glass that doesn't even have a cover to go with it. The majority of this has been when there's milk still left in the sippy cup but with the cover on it's hard to get the last of it out.

"Buh bye"

On Oct. 16th Joshua said "Buh bye" nice and clear and was waving goodbye pretty much on command or even on his own when he realized either us or someone else was leaving. Well, after that he kinda just clammed up and hasn't really said it much at all; even the waving dwindled. Halloween must have gotten him back in the swing of it though, he was saying it last night and even today he was saying it real well and the waving is coming back too! I'll admit though Mallory is probably further along with her vocabulary than he. If anyone can understand and translate Joshua talk I think he has some important stuff to say sometimes.

Trick-or-Treating!

Here is our little "Spiderman"

He found our bowl of candy.

Our first house trick-or-treating with the Johnson's.

Janelle (Pippi Long stocking), Jonah (Superman) and Joshua.

Joshua did pretty well holding onto his bucket! He seemed to like trick-or-treating. Each time he'd get something he'd look down into his bucket and then up to the person who gave it to me as to say "that's all"? It was cute. I'm not sure he said his thank you's but Janelle and Jonah did say that Joshua was saying bye to all of them. Much to my surprise, he did leave the little hat on for quite a while too!

Playing in the leaves

On grandma's recommendation we went outside this morning to run off some of Joshua's energy. Once we were out though he did no running he kinda just stood around and wanted to go see the puppy next door. But here's some fun pictures anyway.

It was a little chilly in the morning yet so I put his new tigger hat on him know the hood wouldn't stay up by itself.

Throwing some leaves up in the air.

This is one of my favorites!

Comparing my big pile of fluffy leaves to Joshua.

Crawling out of the pile.

Then it was time to pump some water.
