Trick-or-Treating!

Here is our little "Spiderman"

He found our bowl of candy.

Our first house trick-or-treating with the Johnson's.

Janelle (Pippi Long stocking), Jonah (Superman) and Joshua.

Joshua did pretty well holding onto his bucket! He seemed to like trick-or-treating. Each time he'd get something he'd look down into his bucket and then up to the person who gave it to me as to say "that's all"? It was cute. I'm not sure he said his thank you's but Janelle and Jonah did say that Joshua was saying bye to all of them. Much to my surprise, he did leave the little hat on for quite a while too!

Playing in the leaves

On grandma's recommendation we went outside this morning to run off some of Joshua's energy. Once we were out though he did no running he kinda just stood around and wanted to go see the puppy next door. But here's some fun pictures anyway.

It was a little chilly in the morning yet so I put his new tigger hat on him know the hood wouldn't stay up by itself.

Throwing some leaves up in the air.

This is one of my favorites!

Comparing my big pile of fluffy leaves to Joshua.

Crawling out of the pile.

Then it was time to pump some water.

Carving Pumpkins

Brenda and Mallory came for supper tonight and brought pumpkins to carve! We didn't get any pictures of them with our camera, but Mallory didn't want to play with pumpkins anyway so she wandered around by herself. Joshua hung around us and sat down to watch for awhile, he must have been wondering what in the world we were doing. He would actually touch and pickup the pumpkin guts!

It's not a good picture, but Adam finally got Joshua to put his hand in the pumpkin!

Pumpkins work well as a drum, just pound on both sides of it.

Picking up some pumpkin goo.

Joshua watching me dig out the seeds and stringy stuff.

Hard at work making a face.

Placing in the mess.

A Family Day

Joshua put on his hat and was all ready to help grandpa! Such a good smile too!

This morning while I was finishing up in my bedroom Joshua was entertaining himself quite well playing with his balls (that came with an inflatable hippo from uncle Paul) and a laundry basket.

Even after getting up he would go back to the basket to play, the camera didn't stop him from playing. Yes, for those of you who haven't seen the carpet in our bedrooms upstairs this is really what it looks like. We're hoping to replace it sometime in the future. It's completely glued to the floor so it's not going to be much fun for whoever will be the lucky one(s) taking it out!
Today we made a trip to Sioux Falls and found some snow pants for Joshua! We just had to try them on when we got home.

We already had a jacket and recently found some boots, now we're all set for the snow!

A brand new 9 cu. ft freezer found a home in our garage too! So much fun!

Here is the inside view of our brand new freezer. That is not the price tag hanging from the top so no, 294 was not the price. Although, it was on sale/clearance!

At the end of a day always comes bedtime.

Just a little tired.

Today Joshua fell asleep on the way home from Pipestone while playing with his phone... who do you suppose he was talking to and how big is the bill going to be?

Our visit to Yankton (SD)

Last weekend (19th-21st) we went down to Yankton for our vicarage church's 125th anniversary. A little interesting tidbit... the South Dakota District just celebrated their 100th anniversary, so that means St. John's Lutheran in Yankton has been around longer than the SD District! Here are some pictures from the weekend. We had a great visit and surprised many with my big tummy : )

Adam and Joshua on their way to the hotel pool!

They had a small, round 1 ft pool just right for Joshua.

The little 1 ft pool even had a slide with water going down it!

Joshua liked to try to climb up the slide.

Reaching the bottom of the slide.

So much fun!

This is supposed to be a splashing picture.

Me and baby #2 at 26 wks along.
On the 17th (Oct.) the baby was 1 lb 13 oz.

Visiting the Kinsley's Joshua sat real nice on the piano bench playing a duet with Christopher.
I think we'll have to keep piano lessons in mind for the future!

Construction has started on the new bridge in Yankton, crossing the river to Nebraska. Adam thought it would be neat to take a picture of the progress with the current old Meridian bridge in the front.

New bridge construction without looking under the other bridge.

I finally got around to putting the china into the hutch. It looks so nice all filled up!

If I remember right Joshua was enjoying a chocolate chip cookie.

Mmm that was a good cookie.

All ready to go farming with Laurie, too bad it had just rained for days and so the fields were still too wet to go farming. Joshua helped Laurie bake cookies instead.

Food, boxes and more food

Now is about the time around here someone could eat real well at least once a week and not have to prepare the good food, thanks to all of the area church meals taking place! Today for lunch we went over to Woodstock (MN) where we tried out the catholic's turkey dinner complete with mashed potatoes & gravy, stuffing, something like candied carrots (from member's garden's I'm told), bread, dessert and of course the pile of turkey. It was pretty good, Adam even went back for more turkey and potatoes. We went home and rested up then headed down to Hardwick (MN) where a fellow church in our circuit was having there soup supper. We arrived toward the end of it so the chili had of course just ran out so we settled for chicken noodle or vegetable beef (both homemade), there was also homemade bread and desserts. Joshua surprised me in Hardwick and actually had a little bit of chicken noodle soup and some vegetables from the vegetable beef soup, he also enjoyed a slice of the bread and some pumpkin pie. They had also ran out of milk by the time we got there so Joshua's only other choice was water... he maybe drank have of the water in his cup, he'd rather have milk! Next Sunday Jasper (MN) has ham and bratwursts, sauerkraut, german potato salad, german chocolate cake, black forest cake... that kind of thing.

Well we plan on staying here for awhile. So I finally got around to getting all of the original boxes things came in out of the temporary storage bedroom and breaking them down. I let Joshua have some fun first though.

Joshua just loves rice krispie bars! Here's another famous father-son eating on the couch picture. Before getting the camera, Joshua had actually held onto the rice krispie bar with both hands and taken a bite. I thought it was cute, but he didn't do it again.
